Thanks to one of my favourite Mama's, I've been given the idea that my New Years resolution should have something to do with actually keeping my blog up to date!
Heck, with all the new things Ella's been doing lately I should keep track of when they happen!

Loot
After a hectic weekend state-side shopping, my beautiful daughter came home with quite a haul!! (I'm getting her hooked on shopping early.. uh oh!) Without really knowing we went down on Dear Widows weekend (which I've since learned is the start of hunting season, so all men go hunt all women go shop ha.)

Anyways, there were some fantastic deals to be had, and here's the proof:
I think maybe I'll have her do a fasion show tee hee. ;)

Happy Half-Birthday!
It's become apparent to me that I'm slacking in my blogging efforts, but really can you blame me? I am a mother first afterall, and a blogger.. pfft I dunno 8th? Whatever.
I really can't believe how fast the time has gone, my baby girl is 6 months old today, and I'm already half done my maternity leave. We've started to introduce solids.. it's a rather difficult experience.

One of "those" people
So I did it, and I succeeded.
You know sizing difficulties, I have a tall, slender/lean baby girl, whose legs are too long for size 3 months in Carter's, and whose top is too small for size 6 months.. so I did what any mom with a head on her shoulders would do. I duped the store by replacing the 3 month pants with 6 months pants. Now much daughter has an outfit that fits. :)
Unfortunately that's only the case with the cotton elastic waisted pants.. all the other pants we bought her for winter are lost causes, her waist is so slender they slide right off!! I'm going to have to invest in some baby legs.. but I fear those will be too wide for her skinny legs! lol Oh well..

:)
I can't be the only person out there who gets some sort of satisfaction out of screwing other people over on the roads. You know the ones I'm talking about, you see them 5 or 6 cars back in your rearview, whip around to pass a bunch of people on the right...
You don't want to be cut off, so of course you speed up so he's stuck behind the shmuck going slow in that lane, the whole time laughing to yourself haha :)

Give me an S..L..E..E..P
Ugh sleep. I think it's the new moms nemesis, we love it, and we hate it because it seems everyone else out there is getting a heck of a lot more of it than we are.. and when we can finally manage to ignore all the little noises coming from the little one's room and have finished listing off all the things that need to be done in our heads, slowly drifting into a nice peaceful sleep and WAAa!! As loud as can possibly be (because you just don't trust yourself to have the monitor volume set to low, just in case you don't hear it while sleeping!)
So I roll over, push the view buttom (I am very fortunate to have a hubby who bought me a video monitor for my birthday! yay) And the little one is on her tummy. CRAP. She learned how to roll from her tummy to her back a month ago! What gives? Now all of a sudden, since she's learned to roll from back to tummy she seems to have completely forgotten her first learned trick.
In I go, flip her back over, but of course now she's wide away.. it's rocking and singing we go.. after 5 or 10 minutes of rocking she's back down. phew! Now I should catch some shut eye before I wake up in 2 hours for her nighttime feeding.
We've always been fortunate with our nighttime, she goes down around 6:45-7:00pm, we usually get 7-9 hours in a row (of course teething has disrupted this) but it's DAYTIME napping which is just terrible.
I feel like I spend the majority of my day trying to get her to nap, she'll show signs of tiredness so up we go, the INSTANT we're in her room she protest screams and wails, so I rock her gently and sing her a song, and 15 minutes later she's asleep in my arms, so I precariously stand up and move to the crib and begin to slowly lower her in, success! 2 minutes and she's still sleeping.. I back out of the room, step on the first squeaky floorboard and she's up...
I spend 15 more minutes and repeat the whole process, sometimes this goes on a few times, all for a 30 minute nap... then she's up and an hour later she's tired and we start all over. I can't wait for sleep training so she can go down and stay asleep on her own, then maybe she'll actually be rested enough to play for longer than 45 min!

The tooth fairy cometh early....
Well Ella has her first tooth! I can feel the sharp jagged edge popping through and I finally caught a glimpse of it today, there is definately a small white bump... but the weird thing about it is that it's not where it's supposed to be!
According to "them"... (who is them, or they anyways?) the central bottom 2 teeth, then the central top 2 teeth are normally the first to come in... from what research I've done via google (really what would life be like without google.. it's a God Send.) anyways, some children, but very few often get their canine teeth first (those little fangs to the right and left of the central incisors)
So The tooth Ella has is neither! It's either RIGHT next to the molars, or it is the molar, it's hard to tell her mouth is so tiny.. I'm gussing it's probably next to the molars are 'they' say the molars are often last... but who knows, maybe Ella's backwards and the last teeth she'll get are the central ones! haha.

First Wedding
We just got back from Ella's first wedding! :) Our friends Doug & Lisa were married in Hamilton and I am SO impressed with how Ella was. She didn't cry at all... we think she got a little bored at the ceremony when all was quiet.. but she was too cute for words in daddy's arms.
She even partied late into the night (9:30pm is late for my baby girl whose bedtime is 7:00pm) She posed with the beautiful bride...
And danced with daddy until she was sleepy...
All in all I would say that it was a great day, I'm so proud of how great she was the whole time! Although today we are battling the effects of a really late bed-time with an over-tired cutie who's refusing to nap, it's nice to know we can get out of the house once and awhile past her bedtime! :)

The greatest sound...
So Ella has finally discovered she has a voice, her favourite pasttime is squealing.. it's awefully cute, but coupled with the fact she is now a pro at rolling from her back to her tummy and vice-versa... it leads to me sitting here watching her not nap, rolling around her crib and 'talking' on the monitor.
Boy Sept 11 can't come soon enough - we've decided to start sleep training... she already sleeps through the night - we just need her to put herself to sleep, so when she wakes in the night we don't need to rock her back!

I swear their cuteness is a built-in defense mechanism - she's just so cute when she smiles up at you from her crib, even though you know she's super exhausted (because you are, neither of you slept all night) it just melts your heart.

New Beginnings..
So I decided to start chronicling my adventure into mommyhood, as a new mom it started with pregnancy brain and my meticulously organized life started to unravel... it only got worse after the birth with the inevitable "baby brain", now organization is non-existent, and memory-loss has wiggled it's way in.
Hopefully this blog with entertain you, but more importantly, allow me to remember all those special moments we tend to forget.
